This collection contains a letter dated March 28, 2018, from James D. Yarbrough, Mayor of Galveston, to President Donald Trump. Yarbrough writes on behalf of the city to support the granting of a posthumous pardon for Galveston native and boxing champion, John Arthur "Jack" Johnson, who was charged and convicted for violating the Mann Act in 1912. Trump granted the pardon on May 24, 2018.
