McMichael Papers, named after the N.S. (Nuclear Ship) Savannah's captain from 1963-1965, contain letters, newspaper clippings, photographs, and other printed materials relating to the Savannah, including her transatlantic crossing in 1964. The correspondence and newspaper clippings document the Savannah's stops along this voyage, which include Bremerhaven in Germany, Dublin in Ireland, and Southampton in England. The photographs show Captain McMichael with associates and family, the Savannah while at port and at sea, and the Captain and crew meeting various dignitaries at the above-mentioned cities. The papers also include brochures describing the Savannah and her usage of nuclear power, itineraries of other voyages before and after the 1964 crossing, crew lists, menus, and other printed materials relating to the Savannah. 20210525.
