"Mardi Gras Costume, Venetian Court, 1928. 1.a,b: Bodice and skirt, the bodice has a v front, square neck and is boned. Made of a ""king's blue"" satin with a wired silver lace collar. Trimmed around the neck with a row of rhinestones which also embellish both the back and front. Elbow-length sleeves with flounces of silver lace. The skirt is same King's Blue satin gathered on each side (to be worn over a side pannier). The front and back panels of the skirt are stitched with rhinestones in a design of half sunbursts (three), balanced by one on each side. .2: Petticoat, cotton with a draw string waist (should be gathered into the band of the skirt) Trimmed with a flounce of scalloped cotton lace. .3: Cap. Close fitting type made of silver lace which is stitched into t pattern of the lace are rhinestones, crystals, clear blue beads and edged with a narrow silver lace. .4: Mask.
