"Christening dress, square necked, white cotton lawn. Long gown trimmed with embroidery and eyelet lace. The upper part of the garment center front is a inset V; embroidered in floral work and eyelet (Irish work) and finished with a scalloped edged ruffle decorated with embroidery and eyelet. A piece of matching embroidery is inset over each shoulder and the arm holes are finished in a double ruffle. The waist is attached with a casing to which the skirt is attached. The skirt is done in tiny gathers (Crimping) with a center graduating panel attached each side with hemstitching bordered with a straight piece finished in the embroidery work. Hem is scalloped and embroidered. Back opening ties at the neck and at the waist.".
