"Mardi Gras Costume. .1; dress, empire style, gored skirt, puff sleeves. Made of orange velveteen. The dress is made with a side plaquet closed with metal hooks and eyes. The waist band is made of gold sequins accented with royal blue sequins. Bands of blue sequins are stitched around the neck and finish the sleeves. The sequins in a scroll and floral design. accented with blue discs and gold sequins decorate the front center panel of the dress. This same pattern continues around the bottom of the skirt. .2; Train. Made of orange velveteen, completely lines with cotton material (Cambric) has blue cambric ties. Designed to be attached at the waist, the train gradually widens as it reached the floor into an oval shape. The center is heavily covered with blue and gold sequins and discs. Serpentine rows of the sequins, blue, gold, form a border for the center panel., clusters of tulip shaped patterns (some are missing) and are repeated around the outer edge.".

"Costume worn in the ""Court of Naples"" Mardi Gras coronation, March 4 1935 by Katherine Campbell, the Maid of Honor to her Majesty, The Queen. A modified rendition was worn by Danette Kerstens for the 2011 100th Anniversary of Mardi Gras Galveston.".
