"Karankawa Indian pottery sherds. .1; pottery shard. Perforated fragment from a new pot used in sick room. Shamans sun mark. Used for sterlizing of water. These pots moulded on inside of other wide mouth water pot, sun dried. .2; Pottery shard. Edge fragment showing how top edge was rounded ""moulded"" on crude grass net filled with sand; adhering grass net on inside burnt out. .3a,b; Pottery shards. Fragments of Shaman's vase broken, 1900 storm. This vase was made of sun dried Galveston Bay mud. Open top globular base, moulded of shark skin bag. Very rare. Perforation is emblem of sun and the base was used for the sick .b; part of the same pot Note the inside tracings left by the scraped smooth shark skin bag on which the pot was molded. .4; pottery shard. Fragment edge of sun burnt, open globular pot. Made of Galveston Bay mud. Moulded on shark skin bag. Note outside finish with serrated fish fin. .5; pottery shards. Large open globular sun dried pot made of Galveston Bay mud. Note this pot was moulded on a grass net bag. Half of this pot in collection was broken and scattered by the storm of 1900.".
